Hello
Afn24,
I hope you're doing well.
To answer your question, there is no inherent disadvantage in taking the GRE instead of the GMAT for MBA admissions at M7 and T15 business schools. Admissions committees at top business schools typically consider both GRE and GMAT scores as part of their evaluation process.
It's quite common for applicants from engineering backgrounds to take the GMAT, but that doesn't mean that taking the GRE will put you at a disadvantage. Many business schools have started accepting GRE scores in recent years to attract a broader range of applicants from various disciplines, including engineering.
When considering your application, business schools typically look at various factors, including your academic background, work experience, letters of recommendation, essays, and overall fit with the program. While the GMAT or GRE score is an essential component, it's just one part of a holistic evaluation.
If you are running out of time and have already prepared for the GRE, it may be more beneficial to take the GRE and apply with a strong application rather than waiting another month for the GMAT. As long as your GRE score is competitive and your overall application showcases your skills, experience, and potential to contribute to the program, you have a good chance of being admitted to a top business school.

I have 9 years of experience as an Oil and Gas engineer, I have been preparing for the GMAT for quite some time, but not getting the target score.
Will I be facing any disadvantages for me during the selection process by the Adcom of M& and T15 B schools, if I take the GRE ? As its normal for Engineers to take the GMAT, but because of lack of time, i don't want to risk another month for the Application rounds.
