Seeking Advice on GMAT Test Simulation Booklet and Erasable Pen Issues

Hi,
I have so far practiced for my GMAT with pen and paper, and now, with just over a month left until my test date, I've transitioned to using a test simulation booklet and an erasable pen.
However, I'm facing some discomfort with this new setup. The ink from the erasable pen I'm using tends to leak ever so slightly, which compromises the legibility of my writing. Moreover, my writing easily smudges or erases if my hand brushes against it due to the texture of the booklet, which is especially problematic during the verbal section where clear note-taking is vital.
My questions for those of you who've recently taken the GMAT are:
1. Are the issues I'm experiencing unique to the particular pen or booklet, I'm practicing with, or are the pens provided during the actual test similar in quality?
2. If you've encountered such problems, how did you adapt to avoid them impacting your performance?
Any insights or tips on how to navigate this situation would be greatly appreciated, as I aim to minimize any potential disruptions on test day.
Thanks
