There is a reason why the saying exists -
Hindsight is always 20-20. And that is exactly what applies to this scenario.
The intent of my asking
our students turned employees to provide their experience with the
e-GMAT quant course to the original poster was simply so that he can see all the perspectives about the
e-GMAT course and make the right decision about his prep. And in that pursuit, Rida, Srushti, and Akash upon being instructed by me posted their honest opinions on this thread. And this is why they only spoke about the
e-GMAT course and not about
TTP's (since they had not experienced it and hence had no insights).
And frankly, if our intents were truly maligned or if we were there to mislead students on this platform, then I must say, we did
a crappy job as a company - who in the right mind would ask their employees to "
stealthily" post using ids that have their names in it - srushtig or to post using the id that is linked with her video interview - Rida's.
Now as I said,
hindsight is always 20-20. And that hindsight happened when I read @dragoon008's post. At that point, I realized my mistake - I should have instructed them to add a disclaimer in their post - they started their journey with
e-GMAT as students and are now
e-GMAT employees.
And for this failure to have them add a disclaimer in their posts, I am
truly sorry.
Disclosing Company AffiliationsThank you
bb for making this a foolproof process for us. I see that as a silver lining!
Now that you have added the "affiliations" tag next to their accounts, in the future, while offering help to students on GMAT Club, if they inadvertently forget to mention that statement, at least we would not be accused of wrongdoing when truly our intent is to help.
In fact, I will also go a step further. I will tell them to add this disclaimer in their signatures as well! Let's make it more foolproof in case the reader does not see the affiliations box on the left-hand side of the post.
Some requestsbb, I have a couple of requests for you. And I hope you will heed them.
1. If you believe what I have said in this post, then please clean up this thread for any accusations against Rida, Akash, and Srushti, because if what I have said is true then the accusations made against them are baseless. Please understand that never would I ask you to remove any accusations against
e-GMAT.
Also, please have their LinkedIn profile screenshots removed from the thread.
2. Please address the accusation that dragoon008 has made for GMAT Club reviews - "
No wonder 2000 out of the 2400 e-GMAT reviews on GMAT Club are fake, manufactured, or paid." We are tired of hearing this accusation time and again and I would sincerely request that you educate the community about the fairness of the review process that you have created on YOUR platform.
I hope I have been able to address the concerns raised on this thread.
