See BW post reproduced below:

I'm a reapplicant to Haas this year and last year the wait for an interview invite was really painful. A bunch of us through that the number of interviews seemed "very light" but Haas invites only about 100 applicants to its Super Saturday event. If memory serves about half the invites went out before Christmas and then there was a hiatus until January 2nd when invites started going out again. I don't remember any mention of invites going out after the 9th - for the record I was dinged without an interview last year.

Haas seems to emphasize innovation and social responsibility. while I want to learn about both areas, I'm interested in Finance. I have heard that Haas is a good Finance school (maybe not as highly regarded as Wharton or Columbia but strong nonetheless). Can someone knowledgeable about this chime in?

How does someone with ambitions of going into the financial world mesh their essays with the innovation/SR theme the school seems to want to convey?

Haas does get IBs like Lehman Brothers to come and recruit (and sponsor quite a few events). They are definitely not powerhouses like GSB or Wharton, but I think you can get your name out there and get interviewed because they have a good relation with big banking/finance companies.
