haha, yeah, at first your post did sound kind of arrogant, but I do understand your motivations now. Though if the company is paying for the tab, Wharton is by no means a bad place to go. There's really no reason to try to reapply for Stanford, one of the hardest schools to get into.

Of course, this all is moot if you do get in. I'm rooting for you! :)

elhajoui, all this discussion is moot if you get into Stanford. And I hope that you do .. so that you don't have to contemplate the somewhat silly (sorry for the strong word .. I'm just trying to help) option of dropping Wharton to try Stanford again.

Like I said before, if you decide to drop Wharton, then that will be a very very bold step. Honestly speaking, I don't see how "your company paying for school" changes the scenario. If you don't get into Stanford next year (And however good you are, you still are more likely to get a ding there .. just because everybody is more likely to get a ding there), then you will not be going to any of the top 3* schools at all. Stanford would have rejected you (high chance), Harvard already dinged you and doesn't admit a lot of reapplicants, and Wharton won't be very keen on taking someone who dumped them the last time.

So, please don't make the mistake of thinking that you will always have Wharton in your pocket. You may be deciding between going to Wharton now or not going to any top 3* school at all!

* Sorry to GSBers for not calling Wharton a top 4 school instead :?

There's hope. A friend of mine who applied to H/S/W in R1 and was waitlisted at ALL THREE (incredible, uh?) just got off both the Wharton and HBS wait-lists two days ago. I hope it works out for you no matter what!

P-S: Wharton requires to respond by May 1, so I assume W/L should start hearing in early/mid May
