Re: Older students at these schools... [#permalink]

Hi everyone. I'm thinking of narrowing my target list this year to just 1 school, but it is an aggressive target. I will be 27 when applying and so will be pushing the upper end of its age range if I get accepted this year. If I do not get accepted (distinct possibility!), in the following few years I might be interested in applying to MIT, Northwestern, Tuck and Columbia, but I'm not sure if they also have a bias towards younger students. Does anyone know if you are at a disadvantage applying to those schools as a 28-30 year old? Thanks!

Is there a specific reason why you wouldn't give it all this year and not in the subsequent years? Is there something that you expect to occur to enhance you candidacy in the coming years?

you'll be fine with all the schools you've listed. I'm 31 and got into Kellogg (and Haas/UCLA).

Just look at the average ages of the schools you mentioned. You will find that its more or less around 28. Since thats an average, you do the math.
