Hi everyone. I'm thinking of narrowing my target list this year to just 1 school, but it is an aggressive target. I will be 27 when applying and so will be pushing the upper end of its age range if I get accepted this year. If I do not get accepted (distinct possibility!), in the following few years I might be interested in applying to MIT, Northwestern, Tuck and Columbia, but I'm not sure if they also have a bias towards younger students. Does anyone know if you are at a disadvantage applying to those schools as a 28-30 year old? Thanks!
I believe that all these schools accept "older" students, at least I know people at all these schools who got accept (and attended) with more than 28 years. MIT accepted me with 29...
But only age will not give you the right answer, if you're working with consulting for instance, it's harder than let's say General Management. IBankers go for an MBA sooner than S&Traders - who usually represent very few spots on BSchools.
