Just thought since we're at a calm point, anyone want to rant about anything?

Morale is low right now for me, although I only have 1 ding. (positive, only 1 ding, negative, 100% ding rate)

Anyways not actually that bad, just thought since everyone has rants, let's all fire off..


First off, Note to anyone else who's going to apply columbia, Seems the most engineer unfriendly school EVER... I think ED they are trying to pick up all the W-street (Wall-E) kids quickly and fill later in RD round....

Can somebody explain what the difference between a ding and a dong is? I just got dinged from Wharton w/o an interview, is that a "ding" or a "dong?"

I've read somewhere that a dong is Rejected w/o Interview.

But seems like no one uses it anymore.

Rant(s): My computer crashed and burned two days before the Haas R1 deadline. Also, I am totally stupid for NOT doing my Kellogg application first, like everybody and their mothers advised me to do. Both applicaions had to be pushed back to R2.

Rave(s): I just got free Thai food at a lunch meeting, woohoo!

no backups??

My columbia essays were on my USB stick which I stuffed into the washing machine, however it survived 17 minutes in the wash cycle. Unfortunately, my iphone didn't.

My roommate did the same thing with his ipod nano. He ran it under the hair dryer and left it to dry out. Then he went to apple and said, this just stopped working. They took a look at it, ran some tests and handed him a new nano.

I asked him, did you get a new nano and he's like, Nah man, the geniuses at the genius bar couldn't figure out so they gave me a new nano :-D

Apparently, I'm not smart enough to back up my data. If I had been, I still wouldn't have had a computer to use to access my data.

LOL @ the memory stick. I have one of those now. I wonder if mine'll survive 17 minutes in the washer...
