I am actually reading a book from Churchill about WWII. Really helps put into perspective , "my struggle to get into B-School"

I don't know buddy.

I think competition to get into top schools for Fall 2009 is as brutal as d-day at Normandy etc etc.

Even Churchhill would have difficult time coming up with a strategy to get into b-school this year.

Looking at how he writes, he would have a breeze with the essays; at least. He would probably talk about it "being his finest hour".

I hope our B-school journey will be as successful as D-Day; I would even take Stalingrad and get out of it bloodied but successful. As long as it is not Dunkirk we are all good.

I think that's enough WWII allegories for now...

The anxiety is getting to me, especially since my recommenders all know I applied (obviously) and mercilessly tease me about it at work. I hope I do get into a school, the horror stories about this season's application stats are scaring me.

I'm going through the same thing Meowzilla... my recommenders ask me about decisions every time I see them which is just adding to the tension. But the one admit will be so awesome if it comes I think that all this stress is totally worth it in the end. I keep having dreams about the moment I get a call and then get disappointed when I wake up.

P.S. As to the original question in the thread, the game Rock Band is great for taking your mind off your problems and relieving anxiety... mmmm fake drums are so much fun. I've also been playing a ton of Fallout 3 which makes me lose hours at a time... highly recommended if you're into gaming at all.

Someone suggested reenacting the "Half Baked" quitting scene when you know you're in. I suggest emulating the movie in its entirety if you really want to relax.

As far as rocking the school gear, I intend to be the Robin Hood of d-bags by flaunting my obnoxious big state gear at an elite private school. Folk hero should look great on my resume.

That's completely sick! :P That's the last thing I would want to do because then I am going to think that I should have aimed for a 760 and that's why I won't get in... LOL

Most of us developed "tolerance" on "gmatforum anxiety-relievers."

We need a way to up our doses...

I think things are even worse (or better) for me. Given the fact I'm on the other side of the world, any emails/phone calls will most likely come in the middle of the night. What this translates to is waking up every few hours to check my email! I suppose the good part is that I can concentrate during the day since I'm sure not to hear anything given it's nighttime back in the States...

SAME HERE! I'm in Korea +14 GMT. 9am-5pm here == 7pm-3am EST. it's like the exact opposite. i was up late many times just to spam refresh my hotmail inbox hoping for an interview invite/decision/update/GMASS MBA junk mail...

not to mention there's a 24 hour casino 30 minutes away from my house
