Folks,

I have just started the prep. I read from numerous posts to first start with a diagnostic test. Pls advise me on which one to take. Is it the one from OG 11?

You may want to save the GMATPrep for later, though it has some overlap with the OG11

By the way, what are you using as your study Guide (should have a test there)?
You are not just planning to go through OG questions and hope that you can pick it up as you go?

like BB I would save the gmatprep tests for once you have actually studied and maybe are closer to being ready.


definately start with a diagnostic test either right at the beginning or after a little refresh/study. bb provided you with the link so just choose one or two and do it.

To be Frank i am weak in Quant. So i was planning to spend a week to review the concepts and then practise the questions in OG12. I want to work out the questions in Kaplan 2009 as well.
I am confused on when a diag test should be taken and how to go about preparing? My real exam date is on July 22.
Pls advise....

In the OG book, read over the Intro to GMAT section. That should explain what each section is about and what types of questions to expect. Then take one of the diagnostic tests bb mentioned. That should give you a rough idea of your current score. Then based on how you do, make your study plan :)

You can take either GMATPrep or the Kaplan tests you have in the book or on the CD. GMATPrep will give you a very accurate read on your GMAT Score, but Kaplan will do job as well by showing you where you have holes. Either option is fine.

Excellent!!! Thanks for all you input. Right now i am going through the maths concepts in Kaplan 2009 as i find the explanation easy to grasp. I just want to make sure to go through the basics before i take the diag test. Its been very long since i went through these. I intend to take a diag test with in this week. I am able to put in 2-3hrs of study time daily towards writing the exam on July 22. I know this is a old and repeted question but i just wanted to know your personal opinions - Am i going through the right track to July 22nd?
