Hey all.. just drop by to say hi! I'm new here in Gclub. Haas is so far the first school that I apply to. I am still trying to get my essays done but nowhere near finishing..
Worst comes to worst I might not be able to make it for Round 2. Looking at the statistics for last year, it seems like only a couple of people applying for Round 3 (and no admits!
). Should I try my best to submit round 2 by all means? Or take my time to put together the best application possible for round 3?
One more thing, anyone knows if Haas merits scholarship tends to be given out to earlier applicants? What are the more important criteria for Haas merits scholarship? Is it high GMAT scores? Career success? Or the overall strong application?
Round 3 should have the same statistics as R1 and R2, since R3 for Haas is similar to R2 in other schools. Not sure why the statistics on GMATClub for R3 is not so good, but overall the chances aren't that much different. The biggest difference is that you might miss a lot of the scholarship deadlines that are offered and if you get waitlisted, you have a lower chance of getting off the W/L because R1 and R2 waitlisted people get reevaluated after every decision deadline, whereas R3 W/L people pretty much have to wait through the summer to see if anyone drops out.
As for Haas Merit scholarship, it's based on strength of overall application, and is given to less than 10% of the admits. I think R3 people have the same statistics as other rounds, but I'm not sure, so that may be a question you want to check with the Admissions office.
