Count me in for R2. I'm interested in their real estate program. For any other real estate kids out there, what other schools should I be looking at?

I'm thinking about applying to Anderson as well, but ultimately I would prefer to be on the east coast. I've heard some people say that Duke has a strong real estate program but I couldn't find anything on their website to confirm that. Anyone?

Hi Kryzak,

D you know any current student who is doing the Healthcare certificate course?

I have a question on whether the healthcare certificate course helps prepre for a career in the healthcare industry or whether the dual-degree MBA/MPH prepares them better.

Thanks

Hi, I talked to a current student about this and she said the MBA/MPH does a better job but at the expense of electives outside of the industry.

I think it really depends what aspect of healthcare you want to go into. The more macro the scope you want to take, the more the MPH comes into play.

What are you thinking about going into?

I am in Healthcare technology. Would like to continue in a general managemen role and long term would like to start my own health services firm in India.

It sounds like the dual degree could make sense for you. You want to stay in the industry and have broader goals than product managment, pharma strategy, etc.

One other thing the student I talked to mentioned is that the degree does brand you to a certain extent. Could be a good thing but may bring up a red flag if you end up going in to another field. Not something to really worry about but just to keep in mind.

USC and UCLA both like to boast about their RE programs, but they're obviously not on the east coast. Not sure about Duke's program, but most schools are pretty good at advertising their "strengths" in a way that makes them easy to research.

Folks,

After being on WL for Haas from R1 last year. Got dinged on May 15th. Have submitted my re-app for R1.

Any news on number of Apps in R1? was it higher than last year? I'm especially concerned with international applicant numbers.

Cheers

I was just looking at last year's forum and noticed that there were 38 full-time applicants for R1. This year, there are only 14!! That's a 63% drop! Of course, I'm not going to draw conclusions because of the small sample size, but I'm wondering the reason for this? Was last year an anomaly?

Putting the finishing touches on my application for Round 2. Looking forward to it. While I feel like the dream school is still Stanford, Haas is starting to give it a run for its money.

This always happens since more people come out after they get accepted, or after they apply. Some people are reading this forum and don't say anything. lurkers.

Call it my stupidity, I had booked my flight ticket for Dec 4th, all the while thinking it's for 11/13. Fortunately tried checking in the previous night and realized the blunder I had committed. I ended up driving but couldn't make it to Berkeley before 1. So I have to fly sometime again to attend the event. Will let you know for sure if I make it over there in December or Jan.

Hope everyone who's visiting Haas today has fun. I decided to push my visit date back until there are classes available that I'm interested in attending.

Submitted R1 application on deadline date, Oct 10th. Anxiously waiting for their verdict.
I thought the wait would be easier since this was my second try.
NOT any easier at all.

Agreed. I wish we had more clarity on when we might begin hearing.
