I'm taking a redeye and will arrive super early on Friday morning and will pick up a rental car around 6am. If there are any other early birds at the airport, we can do some carpooling. :-D

Congrats Lightcap... and Case2010, if I understand your post correctly. Free school can't be beat!

I was admitted in R1, and will be attending the April weekend - looking forward to meeting everyone. I attended IU as an undergrad - Bloomington is such a fantastic town.

In the meantime, if there are any other admits in the Boston area, let's meet up!

Also in the Boston area - looking to attend the KEW, but would be up for a pre KEW get together.

Thanks acf917! Oh yeah, it can't be beat! Looking forward to meeting you all at KEW.

So far, the count of confirmed KEW attendees on this forum (for carpooling purposes) is as follows:

orky56: taking a redeye and will arrive super early on Friday morning and will pick up a rental car around 6am
tcha5782: ETA yet to be updated
EmElleDub: Friday late morning/early afternoon and leaving Sunday afternoon
acf917:ETA yet to be updated
cornflakes:ETA yet to be updated
my humble self: Arriving in Indy Fri around 1PM and departing Sun around 3PM

I will add updates as they flow in so that if we choose to, we can minimize the number of rentals cars(and our KEW carbon imprint  ). I am fine with jumping into a car with a couple of you awesome fellas from Indy to IU...

Sweet - If we can get a couple more folks let's plan something!

I get in Thursday evening - I probably won't be in need of a ride, as I have friends in the area who will meet me at the airport.

P.S. Case - I'm sure you know this already, but Kelley has some pretty nice connections in the Health/Pharma space. It was a big draw for me.

Very nice one acf917! Sounds like you are interested in Healthcare/Pharma? I knew Kelley's got some stuff going in that sphere (Lilly's the big one) but wasn't sure how far their tentacles reach. Was about to start looking up companies that recruit on-campus. We should talk and share ideas....

There was a letter from the dean in the admissions packet... I was very much taken by surprise.

Anyone have a sense of how Kelley grads do in the New York area? That's where I'd like to end up post-graduation, and the low percentage of grads taking jobs in the northeast has me a bit concerned.

Thanks.

They seem to do well. I've attended a few alumni events over the past 2 years and the alumni base in the NYC area is pretty tight and well accomplished.

Thanks.

And thanks to all for the fellowship congrats!

I appreciate the desire to see stats, but I don't want to share just b/c I'm a bit paranoid... I hope you can understand.

I do feel comfortable saying that my stats are good but not extraordinary. (GMAT well above the Kelley average, but not unusual for applicants at top schools.) I think the same can be said for my WE and recommendations. I think my essays are the strongest element of my application, but my Kelley specific essay was not particularly strong.

Sorry that I don't want to share more than that.

How about Atlanta, CA or FL (warm places  ). Any idea how Kelley grads are doing there?

I got the packet late last week and was also floored by the Dean's fellowship.

I'm going to fly in at some point on Thursday to maximize my time looking at housing and the campus on Friday. If any other people are also flying on Thursday and interested in carpooling let me know. At this point it's between IU and BU and although IU typically ranks higher, I had a great time with the BU students and faculty (and obviously city as well). If anyone wants to offer their opinion or thinks I'm crazy to be debating these schools, have at!
