Duke Fuqua 2012 - Calling All Applicants

Does anyone know what is the latest time on the day of the deadline by which the application should be submitted. I haven't seen a specific time mentioned. Other schools usually mention the time along with the Deadline date. Does this mean that we can submit until 11:59pm EST on 1st Nov for R1?

Correct. Submit your application by the end (12 am) of the day, but you'd better do it at least hours ahead of the deadline in case of any technical issues.

Hi bb,

In the first page, in the deadlines box is messed up. Rd 1 is due on Nov 1 and Rd 2 on Jan 4, while deadline box makes it look like Rd 2 is on Nov 1 and Rd 3 on Jan 4.

I think it's strange that only five people have reported that they were invited to interview, although I believe there was one more person, who mentioned that they were invited, in the chat yesterday.

For all those who received invites, can you please update your profiles so that the data points are as accurate as they can be?

Yes, 2000 chars each I believe.

It's a good idea to set yourself up as a recommender to see what your recommender will see. Then you can prep them better with no surprises. You can delete from the list afterwards.

Not sure if you were referring to the Minority MBA workshop or Duke, but if its Duke I would strongly advise you getting your app in for R2. I applied R3 last year and was fortunate to have been wait listed. I heard from several sources (not sure how reliable any of them were) that only 10 people got in R3. With the R1 deadline a week away, you still have plenty of time to get your app in for R2. Whatever you decide to do, good luck in the process!

I concur. Like rgupta83, I was an R3 applicant last year and was strung along as a waitlister until the second day of Orientation Week. The R3 acceptance rate was no more than 3% last year, way below the annual overall average of around 24%. If you could submit in R2, I highly recommend that you do that. In any case, good luck!

Can someone please give me an idea on whether or how to include personal interests (hobbies such as Rock Climbing) in the 'Leadership experience and community involvement' section of Duke's online application. It asks for 'organization name and nature of organization' in that.
