Hi All,
I am studying for the GMAT and was hoping to pinpoint a target score based on my profile.
Age: 28
Undergrad: liberal arts college; BA Political Science, graduated in 3.5 years, 2.8 GPA (many EC's)
Work Experience: 4 years active-duty military (pre undergrad); over 1 year government sales consultant and 1 year credit analyst for a technology firm (post undergrad)
EC: Men's Varsity Soccer (~30 hours/week), Head Coach for local middle school soccer team, member of on-campus Public Affairs society, Worked part-time at a local bar/restaurant to assist with school expenses
Post MSF/MBA Goals: I would like to pursue a corporate finance career in the defense industry (think Northrop Grumman, Lockheed, Raytheon, L-3, etc.) or a role in government consulting. As a non-business major, I see a need to pursue a master's program to demonstrate competency/commitment in business/finance.
Schools: I am considering JHU, University of Maryland, Georgetown, GW, and American.
Note: Based on my background, I am still uncertain if I need a full time program to achieve my goals. Am I considered a "career changer"? From what I've read, I believe I do not have enough work experience for a FT MBA program but too much experience for a FT MS Finance program.
Any thoughts/advice are appreciated!
