Hello
AWasey,
I hope you are doing good. Your profile for an MBA application at Wharton is strong and demonstrates a mix of leadership, professional achievements, and a clear post-MBA goal.
Speaking about your academics, a GMAT score of 770 is exceptional and will be viewed favorably by top-tier MBA programs like Wharton. While your GMAT score compensates for this to some extent, your undergraduate GPA (63.5/100) might be a slight concern.
Your current role as Senior Manager in Product Management, leading a team of MBA graduates, showcases your leadership skills, ability to manage a significant revenue stream, and your strategic acumen. Collaborating with teams based in the UK and US, even if in a remote capacity due to circumstances, demonstrates your ability to work in diverse settings and manage cross-cultural teams. Your rapid progression at HCL Technologies, a company with a massive workforce, is a testament to your capabilities and leadership. Being the youngest in various managerial roles is a significant achievement.
Your involvement in leadership roles since childhood, your sports achievements, and your role in the NGO showcase a well-rounded personality with a commitment to both professional and social causes. Setting up foundations for a startup, especially one with a noble cause like ensuring safety for all, adds another dimension to your profile. Your involvement in a spices business also indicates versatility and entrepreneurial spirit. It would help if you can showcase some traction or milestones achieved with your startup initiatives, such as user adoption, partnerships, or revenue generation.
Your post-MBA goals of transitioning to a consulting role with a focus on later establishing social startups align well with Wharton's emphasis on impact and leadership.
In summary, while there are areas to consider, your profile is robust and aligns well with what top MBA programs like Wharton look for in candidates. Focus on presenting a cohesive narrative that ties together your experiences, achievements, and aspirations.
Good luck with your application!
