I started studying for the GMAT with the hopes of not having to study for the new section. However, my verbal is really hurting my overall score. If I am not applying to business schools for at least 3 years, am I better off taking it now and not studying for the new section, or taking it later and studying for the three sections?
The reason why I started considering waiting is because my verbal is really hurting me and I think I can do well in the Integrated Reasoning section which would take weight off of my verbal.
I took a Manhattan GMAT practice test and score a 660 47 in Quant and 33 in Verbal. I am aiming to score above a 700.

Please read this post on the new section, it might have some info that will help you make the decission:

Also, if you are not scoring where you want, it may be worth while waiting, but continuing to study. You will get there.
The new IR section might not have any real meaning for a few years, but only time will tell. No one can have an exact answer for you, but hopefully you can find enough information to help you out. If verbal is really hurting you I would pick a reading habbit ASAP because it will eventually really start to help. Even just reading the news every day online can really help you out. Good luck! Let us know what you decide and we might be able to help you formulate a plan. But I'm sure you're on top of things if you're starting your studying 3 years in advance!
