the way I looked at the prompt, it confused me first.
Public is aware of the possibility of the biases in the mass media. Also public only gets the news from mass media. So this implies that even though public is somehow aware , it cannot tell the direction,degree or the nature of the bias anyway.

Only choice A makes this choice closest to the prompt. The rest others are stuff on which the prompt makes no mention.
Therefore A.

+1 for (A) If there is a pervasive bias in the presentation of news by the mass media, it would be hard for the public to discern that bias.
