Hi Lucas,

To start, that's OUTSTANDING news! This is a significant improvement over your prior 660 (which was already a strong score!) - and with a 720/Q49, you can comfortably apply to any Schools that interest you!

1) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
2) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi Rich...i always thought only a Q50-51 is considered good... Thoughts? I am. Myself struggling to make the leap from Q49 to higher score from last two months.

Hi HarshBazooka,

I'm not clear on what you're asking about. The Q49+ is a fantastic performance; only about 20% of Test Takers can score that high - and many of those outcomes are from Test Takers who are taking the GMAT repeatedly (and trying to score higher on the Verbal), so it's possible that the percentage of unique Test Takers who score that high is actually less than that.

The type of Overall GMAT Score that you might 'need' to get into your first-choice School is dependent on a number of different factors - but it's highly UNLIKELY that you would actually 'need' a Q50 or Q51 (except under some really rare circumstances). Admissions Committees consider lots of different details when deciding who to invite to attend their Programs - and however you choose to study for the GMAT, you shouldn't lose sight of your REAL Goal: to get into your first-choice School. By focusing so much on trying to raise a Q49, you might actually be wasting a lot of time and effort on something that doesn't matter that much.
