Group A - 30 students. 20% forget homework = 6.
Group B - 50 students. 12% forget homework = 6.

% students who forgot homework = 12/80 = 15%.

C is the answer

Total Group A = 30
20% of the students in group A forget their homework = 20% of 30 = 20/100*30 = 6 students

Total Group B = 50
12% of the students in group B forget their homework = 12% of 50 =12/100*50 = 6 students

Total of Group A & B = 80 students
Total students who forgot the homework = 12

% = 12/80*100 = 15%

The percent of students who forgot their homework is:

(30 x 0.2 + 50 x 0.12)/80

(6 + 6)/80 = 12/80 = 3/20 = 15/100 = 15%
