The Businessweek rankings seemed off to me in a lot of ways too 1 both for FT and PT.
When you look at their PT Ranking method, one major aspect is:
"To determine which programs are tops in academic quality, we combine six equally weighted measures: average GMAT score, average student work experience, the percentage of teachers who are tenured, average class size in core business classes, the number of business electives available to part-timers, and the percentage of students who ultimately complete the program."
Average work experience is EQUAL to GMAT score?!!! Come on now B-week, you can't rank a school higher bc they let in older people...
Also can't believe tenured professors % and the other factors are weighted equally. Truly awful ranking, which is a shame bc the other aspect of their ranking where they ask companies to rate graduates would actually be valuable if it werent muddied with all the bs in quotes above. Surprised Schools like Berkeley, UCLA, and CMU even make it up high on the list.
