I am starting Veritas Gmat Prep course on 5/5. Is there any suggestions on what to do before the 5/5 first day of class?

Take a practice test from mba.com to get a feel for the interface, etc.

The best place to start would be to get a feel for the different categories of questions that the GMAT tests. Go ahead and buy the Official Guide to GMAT 13th Edition, unless they hand you the book as part of the course. Review the first 10 or so questions from each category(Problem Solving, Data Sufficiency, Sentence Correction, etc.), and look at the explanations as well. This will help you get a sense of the structure of the exam and make it easier for you to get more out of the class. And certainly you could also brush up on your foundations, for example on math you could go through the math review that the test writers have in the official guide. In general on the math, most students face the most difficulty with data sufficiency, because it is unique to the GMAT and takes time to get used to, and that would be another area worth spending some time on.
