Let us look at the distances of each series from mean.
A: mean = 30, distances : 20,10,0,10,20
B : mean : 30, distances : 20, 0,0,0 20
C: mean: 30, distances: 20,5,0,5,20
D: mean: 30, distances: 20,20,0,20,20
E: mean : 30, distances: 10,10,0,10,10

Clearly D will have maximum SD as distances from mean are maximum in case of D.
Hence D

Greatest SD would be of the one which is at highest distance from the mean value so out of the given options D stands out with value 20 from mean so highest SD...
