Word Problem Syndrome on the Test

Hi,
I would like to take your suggestions on a major issue I face in the GMAT Quant section. When ever I see a long word problem(Takes around 4 min to solve) on the test, my stress level increases and I tend to make silly mistakes not just on the problem at hand but even on the next few problems. These mistakes continue until I settle down by confidently solving couple of problems (In my strength areas).
I tried practicing as many word problems as I could find on the forums, but on the test I still face this issue. My Quant score, which was Q50 on my first Gmat prep, oscillates for this very reason. I am not sure if I can possibly get over this and be ready for the test day.
Test Scores:
GMATPrep 1: Q50 - 10 Mistakes (mostly from problem 30), Taken in February 2014
GMATPrep 2: Q47 - 14 Mistakes (mostly from problem 25), Taken in July 2014
GMATPrep 3: Q48 - 11 Mistakes (spread across the test), Taken on September 30, 2014
Thanks in advance,
Ram
