I purchased the three school package (Wharton, HBS, CBS) from Veritas Prep. My head consultant was Dia Draper.

The process as a whole was very positive. Dia got to know me, my background, etc. She asked me to take the GMAT a second time, which I did. She helped me to work my 'ground game' with the schools, events, etc. During essay season, the school specialists helped me to understand the best way to position my story. Dia then helped with the versions. She was very responsive and turnaround times were great. Dia helped me prep for my interviews as well.

Overall, Dia was worth every penny. The school specialists were good. The Ultimate Admissions Committee turns out to actually only be one person, but it's great to have their feedback since they don't know you, your story, etc.

I started working with Dia in July of last year. My application had a few challenges and Dia helped me present myself in the best light possible. She went above and beyond to read draft after draft of essays and help me prep for interviews. She offered thoughtful feedback and asked questions that got me to dig deeper into my responses. Most importantly, she gave me confidence in my application and interviews - it was a tough process and I can't imagine doing it without her guidance and support. Do yourself a favor and sign up for Dia's help - you won't regret it.

I worked with Dia throughout my admissions process -- she was incredible. Dia helped me refine my story so that I was the most compelling version of myself when submitting applications and interviewing. I definitely did the work, but Dia was key in pointing me down the right path(s) and pushing me to do my homework. At different times she was cheerleader, coach, mentor, and speaker of hard truths.

Dia is busy (I think most consultants are) -- but she managed to stay organized and keep the details of my particular situation fresh in her head. She was always responsive and available on email, text, phone, etc. I can't recommend Dia highly enough!

The applications to MBA schools are trickery. The winners are the students who choose and get admitted to the school which suite them best and where they ought to be. I was way off when i applied my first time. Although Dia from Veriats had clearly pointed me to the right direction she stuck with my personal choices. Even when i was rejected by all, her encouragement helped me beyond words can express. Finally when i got admitted to the school which best suites my profile all her words feel like gospel now. The veritas team is the best: they are not adamant or choosy but guide all students who come to them without any regard to the time spent or resources they invest. Working with them was FANTASTIC. I can vouch that their methodology in which each school's application is scrutinized by school specific experts and all the other members examining the application is really good. They are very result oriented rather than reosurce minded.

At first, I was reluctant to engage an MBA admissions consultant. Being someone who is well organized and knew his “why MBA” story, an admissions consultant seemed unnecessary. I could not have been more wrong. After watching Dia’s Ted Talks ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzrWM4m_qXU) , I knew that if I was going to use a consultant she was going to be it. Six months later, I have been admitted to Duke Fuqua, NYU Stern, Virginia Darden, UNC Kenan-Flagler, Texas McCombs and USC Marshall. I will be attending Darden on a scholarship next fall. While hard work and preparation helped me yield these results, Dia was the magic touch that ensured I marketed myself in the right way to each program.

Throughout the process I learned that schools don’t just want GPA, GMAT and brand name firms---they want to know who you are and that their program can actually help you achieve your long-term goals. Having many friends that went through this MBA application cycle with less than favorable results, I will be the first to tell you that I 100% believe that the MBA brand, essays and strategies that Dia helped me develop made the difference.

After submitting my first draft essays to Dia (I thought they were pretty good!), I received an email saying “Let’s connect….”. Within a day, Dia and I were on the phone discussing why I really wanted an MBA. Dia knew my non-traditional goal to go into Real Estate Development would meet scrutiny with AdComs, so she spent over an hour drilling down into why I wanted to pursue this career path. After multiple draft revisions, I had a concise and powerful essay. It was from this conversation that I delivered my programs with the strongest essays possible and was able to delivery my “why MBA” pitch without any reluctance. Specifically, this conversation paid off at NYU when the first thing my interviewer told me was “you do not need an MBA. Prove to me why this makes sense”. From my multiple strategy sessions with Dia, I was able to deliver my pitch in a high-pressure situation seamlessly.

From day one, I was transparent with Dia that while my GPA, extracurriculars and WE were strong that my GMAT would be an issue. Via Dia’s experience in working at Tuck and Darden, she was able to provide real insight into how the AdCom would respond to my GMAT score. Anticipating that GMAT would be my Achilles heel, Dia created a strategy to show case that my quant skills are solid.

If I had to do this process again, I would use Dia any day. Beyond the admissions cycle, I know that Dia and I will remain in contact as she is just a great person in general.

I used Veritas Prep and worked with Dia while preparing applications for 4 top MBA programs. Overall, I'm very happy with Veritas and I'm extremely impressed with Dia. I gained acceptance into the program of my choice, in large part because Dia helped me present my candidacy in the best possible light.

Initial Meeting

Veritas matches you with a consultant based off a questionnaire/personality assessment that you fill out. I was disappointed with the first consultant I was connected with (poor rapport, I didn't have full faith in his recommendations), but after calling Veritas, they introduced me to a new consultant (Dia) in a very professional manner. In hindsight, I should have been more clear with Veritas regarding what I was looking for in a consultant, but it did ultimately work out for the best.

Dia called me and we discussed my goals/motivations for pursuing an MBA. Dia has a ton of experience working in MBA admissions departments and is very personable. Through a bunch of phone calls, we started to create a list of schools that best matched my interests and formulate a strategy.

Personal MBA Game Plan

Veritas sent a soft copy of a Game Plan document that listed my strengths and weaknesses, as well as how to address them. From what I remember, it's generated in large part based on the personality assessment that you take. It was definitely interesting, but I'm not sure it helped me that much. The more information the better, but I think what I was really getting by using Veritas was Dia and the School Specialists. I should add that the school guides that Veritas publishes (I think anyone can access them for free) were very useful, and helped me a great deal in deciding what schools to apply to and answering the "Why school x?" essay questions.

School Specialists

After writing first drafts of the essays and getting (excellent) feedback from Dia, you're introduced to School Specialists who attended the schools you're applying to. I found all of them except for one to be excellent, offering pointed feedback and recommendations on how you can best match your overall application package with the culture of the school. The one School Specialist who I didn't think was excellent was still quite good, but I got the sense that she was handling a lot of candidates at once and may have been pressed for time.

Ultimate Admissions Committee

After you've completed your application package, it gets sent to committees that specializes in each school. This final set of eyes is definitely helpful, and they give really honest feedback on your overall candidacy and how you can improve it.

Interview Prep

Dia ran through several mock interviews with me, and I can't express enough how helpful it was in preparing for the interviews. We ran through tons of questions and formulated strategies on how best to answer questions while trying to align with each schools' culture. I felt overprepared for the interviews, which was great!

Overall Review

I was very pleased with Veritas Prep and would definitely recommend them. They seem to be one of the bigger admissions consulting firms, and that definitely shows with some of the technology (i.e. Game Plan and personality assessments) they use and access to specialists for each school. While that's definitely useful, I think what you're really getting is access to a great consultant (in my case Dia) to help guide you through the application process.

Prior to beginning this process, I met with many companies to see which one I thought was the best fit for me. After speaking at length to one of the representatives from Veritas Prep I knew they were the right one for me. They were very detailed in explaining what the process would look like and how they planned to help me achieve my dreams.

After filling out a personality test, I was matched with Dia Draper as my head consultant. The best word I can use to describe Dia is "godsend". From the jump, Dia outlined how she worked with her clients and what her expectations were. Throughout the entire application process, Dia was readily available. We met numerous times for interview prep, and she reviewed and edited tons of essays drafts. Dia was able to pull the very best out of me and without her I would have never been able to portray my story the way I did. I’ve never met someone who cared as much about the process as the end result, and I’ve never met someone who believed in me as much as she did.

With Dia’s help, I was admitted into my top choice for business school and both of my other target schools. I am forever indebted to her for not only aiding me in this process but for also helping me learn so much about myself through all of the reflection exercises. Thank you Dia!!

Dia was an amazing support during my application, and I believe she genuinely cares about your success. She was always flexible to meet when I needed to chat, and she always gave timely advice on any writing submissions (including everything from essays to follow-up communications to admissions, etc.). Dia also helps put you in touch with school specialists that are outside of her specialty, but Dia even reviews the work of those specialists (which I don't think is required of her). Ultimately, I got a lot of value out of the advice and feedback, and I would give her my highest recommendation.

After receiving offers for interview from two great universities (top 10 in the world), I knew I needed to excel during my interview as there was great competition. That is why I chose to go with Veritas Prep as I knew I would get great feedbacks during the process. During the practice sessions, I was impressed about how the questions were relevant to the universities and my MBA application. We practice several time each major question in order to get me ready. During those two interviews, I already knew what the questions would look like and was ready for them.

In the end, I got accepted at both universities!!

Thank you Dia !! Thank you Veritas Prep!

I could not have made a better choice in choosing Dia Draper and Veritas to guide me through the MBA admissions process! Dia and I met through the Veritas Prep free profile evaluation process – I spoke with her after getting into a few part-time programs, but was struggling with the decision to re-apply for full-time options in the next admissions cycle or to pursue the part-time MBA option.

From the very beginning, Dia was incredibly supportive and encouraging of my goals despite my concerns about a lower GPA and GMAT/GRE score. She went above and beyond and even offered to read a few of my essays, and look more deeply at my profile to offer her candid advice on my chances of admission at a top ten school before I enlisted her help. I distinctly remember her telling me “make this decision from a place of power rather than fear.” From that point, she provided the much needed boost of confidence to pursue my goals and became just as much of a “life coach” as an admissions consultant, guiding me through the application process but also easing any anxiety I had and encouraging me to reach higher. Every time I felt discouraged, Dia gave me a sense of calm that “I could do it.”

Given I had already gone through the application process once before, I chose the hourly package with Dia. She provided thoughtful advice on how I could take my essays from “good” to “great” and challenged me to dig deeper and be more introspective, which I think was a huge differentiating factor for my application.

When I got an interview from my dream school, Dia offered to spend a full hour (even though my hourly package had expired) prepping with me. I am proud to say that with Dia’s help, I got into my top choice – Columbia’s GSB!

Overall, my experience was very strong and Dia played a very important role in helping me get in to my top choice. I would highly recommend her to anyone beginning the MBA application process – she is an inspiration and unparalleled in her genuine investment and interest in helping you achieve your goals!
