the perimeter of the triangle will be 5+4+3=12 and so total pieces that can be made will be 6000/12= 500

greatest possible number of supports that the company can produce=Total feet of metal stripping/Total feet of one right angled triangle shaped support=$$\frac{6000}{12}=500$$

Ans.(B)

Bunuel isn't this question in a way flawed? As we are asked to maximize the number of supports we should have choices to atleast make this problem worth solving or worth tagging it as MAX/MIN !

IMO there shouldn't be the mention of RIGHT TRIANGLE support as this narrows down the choice of the third length to 5.

If the support were not right triangle we would have >>

1< third side< 7 . Here atleast we could use a little bit of our brains to maximize the no. Of supports by minimising perimeter of one support.

chetan2u agree?
