Why are we not considering the fact that price ranges "between" 0.65$ and 1.35$
the least price could be 0.66/0.67...
In this case, Can C be the answer?
Although I understand 0.65$ is least price, but the qst does not say 0.65$ is the least price.

This maybe silly to ask, but any kind of clarification in this doubt will help

Minimum cost = 0.65 * 12 = 7.80

At a bakery, the price of a bagel ranges between $0.65 and $1.35 depending on the flavor of the bagel. If a customer purchases 12 bagels of the same flavor, the bakery will provide a 13th bagel free of charge. What is the minimum amount that a customer could pay to receive 13 bagels?

A. $7.25
B. $7.80
C. $8.45
D. $9.10
E. $9.35

The minimum amount paid for 12 bagels is 0.65 x 12 = $7.80 and the customer will then get the 13th free.

In order to pay the minimum possible price for 13 bagels, a customer would want to:

1) Be sure to take advantage of the promotion to get the 13th bagel free.

2) Buy the cheapest possible flavor of bagel.

So here that would mean buying 12 of the $0.65 flavor, and then getting the 13th free. The answer is therefore 12 * 0.65.

You can do this quickly by breaking the calculation into 10 * 0.65 (which is $6.50) plus 2 * 0.65 (which is $1.30) = $7.80. Choice B is correct.

12*0.65 = 7.80 ; Answer must be (B)

Even I feel there is a flaw in the question. The question says between $0.65 and $1.35. It does not say inclusive or exclusive. if we keep inclusive then it's going to be option B, and for exclusive it's option C.
