Well Kellogg and Chciago are averaging ~40%. Closer to Ross, Duke is almost a 100%, in R1 atleast. I would say it tends to be population bias.

But I think the rankings are based on class of 2009 stats and thats what it was back then.

Do you mean here at GMATclub?

selectivity Haas is up there with Harvard (14% for last year, probably 12-13% this year), but yield it kinda sucks... in the low to mid-50%.

BW rankings are in August-October time frame, I still have the 2006 issue. US News listed the "2008 rankings" on their website... does that mean 2009 will come out in a few days?

yes, even if I end up at Kellogg, my Haas allegiance will always be there. Once a Cal alum, always a Cal alum.

I asked Businessweek and they said the new rankings will come out late October/ early November, so we will be number 5 there for a while more !!! :)

Also, in the latest profile of Ross on Businessweek the following stats are presented:
Applicants who were accepted to the most recent class: 20 %
Admitted applicants who enrolled in the newest class: 70 %

And since we know that this year in R1 applications were up like 50% I think this year's selectivity should be between 15-20%. So the gmatcluber's selectivity does not have much to do with reality :)). I think it is just by chance that some schools have higher selectivity on our board and some have significantly lower selectivity than the actual (Tuck). Or maybe it is just that the people who like to post on gmat a lot and to use forums for communication are better fit at schools such as Ross, Duke, and Kellogg. So maybe we can see school culture just by looking at this forum and what happens with the people here.

Also, what I have noticed is that much more students from Ross (percentage-wise) are on Facebook, while a much lower percentage of Tuck students use Facebook. So again, maybe it is just not in the school-culture of some schools to use interntet/facebook for communication. And I have noticed that not many websites of clubs at Tuck are updated in the last couple of years, so that school seems very 'closed' and isolated from whe world and maybe it attracts more such people and therefore the gmatclubbers are not a good fit there :).

Anyone considering Ross vs other schools, I want to say that if you decide to go with Ross you will end up with some amazing classmates and terrific alumni.

I went to an admitted students event today. There were 35 admits, 10 alumni(from class of 1988 through class of 2006) and about 5 current students. I was highly impressed by how successful the alumni were and how down-to-earth the current students were. I had several interesting conversations with a lot of folks and I now am leaning towards Ross more than ever.

This one is for kry: One alumnus went to UG at Ross and got her MBA from Haas. I put her on the spot with the Haas vs Ross question. She said she was disappointed with what Haas offered as far as business school education is concerned

Interesting, could you elaborate? :)

EDIT: Elaborated privately, but had to clarify here to not mislead future Haas applicants. Haas had some teaching quality issues, but everything else was fine. The teaching quality could have been improved since when she went to school, so it's a tossup. :)

I am liking what I am seeing for apartment prices in AA. I could rent a palace for what I pay in Seattle. If my wife can work remote or find a good job in AA I could be in good shape.

Holdengk,

As far as I know R1 or R2 most received the scholarship info with the admissions e-mail/phone call.
Exception might be the consortium applicants. More may become available as people chose to matriculate
somewhere else...

When did R1 admits get theirs?

Well, I met a R-1 (International) admit to Ross a couple of days ago and he said he received his binder 4 days after the admit! I did receive an e-mail a couple of days ago (I'm sure you guys did too) stating that they were having some difficulties with the binders and that they would be sending them out soon. We *should* be getting 'em this week.

In others news, I met three other Ross admits from Bangalore on Saturday evening and I must say I would be more than happy to go to school with people as accomplished, yet down-to-earth as them. One was still waiting on a decision from Kellogg (waitlisted there), but I tried to swing him the Ross way :) Another was admitted to Ross, Duke and Darden, and said he was matriculating at Ross for sure. He is discussing housing options with me. So I think it is safe to say that he was pretty serious ;) Oh wait, here is a tidbit that's pretty cool. Apparently there were 11 admits to Duke from just Bangalore in R-1! To the 2009-ers reading this: I think this is a clear indication that a lot of schools tend to fill up their spots (especially for applicants from competitive demographics) early on. So applying R-1 does have its advantages.

And yeah, lastly, I must say that the Ross community has been phenomenal in reaching out to its admits. A MAP team coming down to Bangalore for its project reached out to us and has invited us to dinner on the 1st of April. They have even gone the distance and invited a couple of alumns to talk to us about their experience post Ross. I can't wait to pick their brains, especially one guy who is working in the same area that I hope to work post-MBA! I will keep you guys posted on the happenings.
