Hey R1 applicants,
Do you guys know how long after you send your deposit (credit card number) by fax your credit card gets actually charged?
I plan to send my deposit, by fax, on the 21st :) and I am leaving for a vacation on the 24th so I want to make sure my credit card is charged before I leave so that I don't have to worry if they got everything ok :) (I tend to mess-up 1-page forms)

Also, over the weekend I looked at the US News rankings by specialization, and our school is so awesome!! Ross made it in the top 10 schools in 6 of the 10 rankings for specializations that US News has. Only Stanford and Wharton made it to more specialization rankings (9). And all other schools (including HBS and Kellogg) were included within the 10 ten schools of 6 specialization rankings max.
Ross is
4th in Management
4th in International Business
5th in Accounting
5th in Production/Operations
5th in Nonprofit
7th in Marketing

So guys we can go into so many industries/functions and have a relevant respected brand in our Resume

It took almost a week. I was a bit worried :) You can't open a login name to get to Kresge online library without a student login. So, I gave a call to the admissions office and in a day or two card was charged. They told me that it took long because all the people were dealing with R2 applications.

The new building is delayed till Fall 09. Atleast we get to use it for a year :)

Got the binder here too. Was by Fedex. As a refresher, I am in Chicago. All yours s/b on the way too...
Admitted portal had one guy from Detroit one from India reporting binder sighting as well!!! :wink:

And, here is what the newspaper said about out struggling school :(

"Compounding the effect of a strike is the questionable financing used to pay for the building. The estimated $147 million cost was financed by a combination of investments in Bear Stearns' hedge funds (defunct), Citigroup stock (down almost 60%), CMOs (don't ask), and money from Stephen Ross. These questionable financing options were chosen for their tremendous upside (what are the chances a twice bankrupt used car salesman in Akron wouldn't make his monthly payments if his rate jumped from 1.25% to 12% overnight?)."

Really? That sucks big time. Actually Kimberli of the adcoms just wrote me the other day that it will be finished by October and ready to move in by Jan 09.

What are the sources of that info?
