Bunuel : any reason why the absolute condition in the LHS is not considered while solving for the RHS?

It seems that there may have been some confusion regarding the notation used in the question.

The bars there are not absolute value signs. Rather, they are function signs that operate in the manner described on the right-hand side (RHS) of the equation. Specifically, given any four numbers a/c and b/d, |a/c b/d| denotes the value of the expression ad-bc.
