3 copies 4 seconds
9000 copies = (9000*4)/3 seconds
= 12000/60 minutes
= 200 minutes

We can solve the question using EQUIVALENT RATIOS

(# copies)/(seconds)
Let x = seconds to make 9000 copies.
We get: 3/4 = 9000/x
Cross multiply to get: 3x = (4)(9000)
Simplify: 3x = 36,000
Solve: x = 12,000 SECONDS

There are 60 seconds in a minute.
12,000/60 = 200
So, it takes 200 MINUTES to make 9000 copies

Answer: D

Another approach is to apply some number sense in a series of steps

GIVEN: Copier makes 3 copies every 4 seconds
So: the copier makes 45 copies every 60 seconds [if we increase the working time by a factor of 15, then the number of copies increases by a factor of 15]
In other words, the copier makes 45 copies every 1 MINUTE [60 seconds = 1 MINUTE]
Keep going: the copier makes 9000 copies every 200 MINUTES [if we increase the working time by a factor of 200, then the number of copies increases by a factor of 200]

Answer: D

Given
In this question, we are given that
    • A copier makes 3 copies every 4 seconds
      o Hence, it makes 45 copies in a minute

To find
We need to determine
    • Keeping the same rate, how much time (in minutes) the copier will take to make 9000 copies

Approach and Working out
As the working rate is constant, we can say
    • 45/1 = 9000/t, where t is the time taken in minutes
    Or, t = 9000/45 = 200 minutes

Thus, option D is the correct answer.

3 copies every 4 seconds = 45 copies every minute (Multipled by 15)

Now, to make 9000 cpies time required is 9000/45 = 200 , Answer must be (D)

The copier makes 3 copies every 4 seconds

A minute has 15 such 4 seconds and thus the number of copies made is 15*3 =45copies in a minute

Number of minutes consumed to create 9000 copies = 9000/45 (Utilizing Work/Rate of Work = Time)

=200
