Hi,
I'm just starting out on my GMAT prep. I'm using
Magoosh, and am following one of their study plans.
As part of the study plan, you are instructed to do practice questions. The practice questions on the
Magoosh platform are random. Therefore, for PS, I get questions on geometry, algebra, exponents, etc. However, when I am doing practice problems, I am often being quizzed on topics I have not yet learned. For example, I did a question on geometry and polygons today. Unsurprisingly, I got it wrong, as I have not taken the geometry lessons yet.
One option would be to watch the "related lessons" videos, and brush up on that specific area of geometry. However, that seems a bit useless where the lesson will likely build on knowledge from a previous lesson that i have not yet taken. Essentially, I'd be skipping ahead, and doing one question in a certain area could require hours of learning to move on, essentially randomizing the order of the study plan.
The other option, however, is simply to shrug it off and say "damn, didn't know that, guess I'll learn it when I get there." This option seems useless too, as I'm just burning questions and not really developing a substantive understanding of why I got the question wrong.
Does anyone have a suggestion? Sorry if I missed a sticky or something that addresses this. Thanks.
