Re: New to GMAT Club - Post Your Questions Here [#permalink]
So I recently gave my GMAT test and got 600, in contrast to 680/700 scores that i used to get in official mocks. Now im getting somewhere near 770/780 in official mocks. Is there an advice to perform better on the official test?

Mocks are deceptive. Hope you are taking the mocks in exactly the same simulated environment as the actuals i.e. laminated sheets, markers (and not paper and pen).

I was getting 770/780 on my last 3 mocks and I got 760 in the real exam (granted, I took it at midnight so I was pretty exhausted before I even started it. Long story)

Your profile score is 750 - just fyi. Seems some kind of a mismatch 🤷‍♂️

Not sure I would use the word deceptive. I would say that you can definitely get inaccurate results for a number of reasons but I don’t think Mocks are deceptive, especially GMAT prep which uses the same algorithm and question quality as OG 😬

Hi Guys…I just gave mine a day back and got a pretty awful result. Just wondering how are you all going about it? Any tips or strategies that you guys recommend?

and for quant, if your score is very low, you may be missing key concepts and depending on how much time you have, look at some of the prep coures?

Where can I get that from?

Here on GMAT Club, search the practice question bank and filter for official guide question only. Pratice topic by topic. but you first need to have conceptual knowledge

My concepts are all clear but they way to crack the questions needs a bit more practice

Ok if you are sure that your concepts are clear, then go ahead and practice official guide question. Topic by topic and start from the sub600 difficulty level

I got 47/38 Q/V. Grammar and structure are poor. Not sure how to address that.
