Let total members in group = 100%

Japanese speakers = 25%
Non-Speakers of Japanese =100-25 = 75%

But Total Non-Japanese speakers = 11+19 = 30

i.e. 75% of group people = 30

i.e. Total people in group = 100% = 40

I.e. Japanese speaking population = 25% of 40 = 10

Answer: Option D

We see that 19 + 11 = 30 individuals do not speak Japanese, and those 30 individuals constitute 75% of the entire group. Letting n = the total number of individuals in the group, we can create the equation:

0.75n = 30

n = 40

Thus, 1/4 x 40 = 10 speak Japanese.

Answer: D
