Re: If I like to swim, run, and dance. correct, why [#permalink]
Lets dissect the parallelism in the original statement:

that dolphins have the ability of recognizing [strike]themselves in mirrors—an ability that is often considered as a sign of self-awareness—[/strike]and spontaneously grasping

The parallelism had to be enforced between

[recognizing] and [spontaneously grasping]

This is not parallel. A properly parallel statement would be
[recognizing] and [grasping spontaneously].

Crick

so what is missing is "of"? ...and of spontaneously grasping?
than why is "I like to swim, to run, and todance.” without to is correct?
