congrats on getting a coveted invite! are you going to do it on-campus?
my interview's off-campus.
Just got my interview invite today as well- going to have to travel, no alums in my area. So, Stanford doesn't do on-campus interviews? Only alums?

No- I had to provide them with cities I would travel to.

Congratulations distgent, good luck for the interview.

I had nothing better to do for the last 1 hour or so, and so I read through the archives here.

These are the people who seem to have gotten invites in R2 on this forum.

kkatl (Although people are calling him a liar), tft, crouton27, sej616, CAMBA13, snow2611, mmios, distgent007.

That's a big enough number for 100 applicants I suppose.

I went through the archives too. I found that the there was a huge surge of interview calls on Dec 1 (for Dec 14 deadline in round 1). People we talking about interview calls going up to the last week.

I have a question.
I haven`t got any good new from Stanford yet, but there is no way to contact to admission officers.

Is it possible to send an email and get anwers from them?
or is it possible to have a self-initiative interview if i visit Stanford?
i`m quite desperate :(

What kind of answers do you want? Stanford clearly outlines their interview process and notification dates. We are 3 weeks away from the notification date so there is nothing to ask them. I know that you're anxious, but do NOT contact Stanford. Interviews are by invite ONLY. You cannot self initiate. You just have to be patient and see if they will invite you. Calling or emailing to ask about your status is a major no-no.

Most of us on this thread are waiting to hear from Stanford, so you're not alone. Don't go torpedo any shot you may have by being a pushy applicant. It will NOT reflect well on you.

Wow, Stanford has the uncanny knack of making even the most optimistic people nervous!

They really should have a fixed day in a week when they should send out their invites. That way, if nothing else, atleast they will help ensure that productivity in offices doesn't suffer!

I don't know if there are many more invites left but I have an appetite for probably just about a week more of optimism. After that I think it's bye-bye to the West Coast :)

I wonder whether it would have helped. They stated clearly that the optional essay was for you to explain any perceived weaknesses, e.g., low GPA, gap in your resume, etc.

I wonder if the optional essay is the reason why I have not been invited. I told them that I lost my undegraduate diploma/transcript, which I earned in China, and might not be able to get a new transcript because I couldn't get a Chinese visa.

I don't really think it makes sense. Better to save the effort, $265, and avoid wasting your time.

Is there any point in applying to GSB in R3? I know the chances are slim since many spots are already taken up by this point (especially with their late application deadline of April), so I'm just wondering if it's even worth it. Any idea of the acceptance rate in R3?

Sorry, if this has been asked before -- I went through a few pages of post and didn't see anything. Also, I already have an admit so this is more of a hypothetical question.

Yeah I've pretty much resigned myself to a ding a Stanford. On the plus side, that's one less school to be nervous about.

Just a random question:

Does interview length matter / or correlate with acceptance rates?
I read from admissions consultants' blogs that longer interviews --> better sign??

Can anyone admitted tell me if this is true?
