Congrats and good luck!

if you dont mind sharing, where did you do your undergrad?
we seem to have very similar results.
I went to a mid-tier Ivy/Ivy equivalent (Penn, Stanford, Columbia, Duke). Yourself?

I went to a top 25 private university on the West Coast.

Did anyone on this forum get an email from the GSB when their application went under review? Just confirming as some other schools send out an email.

Nope, just a change status in the application system.

Got an interview invite today!

Do they send an email? Is it from Stanford or the alum? Or is it a phone call?

If the 2009 Stanford blog post about Round 2 Statistics is any indication, 2/3 of the interviews will be sent out 7 weeks after application deadline.

I assume that'll be next week...

I don't think that's what it says in https://www.stanford.edu/group/mba/blog/ ... stics.html . I think the blog is saying that, between weeks 0 and 7, they had invited 275 candidates to interview, not that they will invite 275 candidates in that week alone.

Both of you are right. The thing is that a great portion of those 275 candidates were invited during weeks 6 and 7. I am a reapplicant and I remembered that last year action started by the end of february. I am positive about next week.

Stanford already answered your question. Per the email that applicants receive after submission...

Congratulations! You have successfully submitted your Fall 2012 application to the MBA Admissions Office. Click here to view the status of your application by using your username and password.

Interviews are offered by invitation only. Invitations for interviews will be sent up until the week prior to the decision date for the round in which you applied. We will invite you via email, and you and your alumni interviewer will schedule a mutually convenient date and time to meet. We hope to interview between 800 and 1,200 applicants this year, and offer admission to between 400 and 500 candidates. We expect to interview all candidates admitted to the MBA Program.

If you have not already done so, please make sure your junk mail filters are set to receive emails from the following addresses: [email protected] and [email protected]. Thank you.

We appreciate your interest in the Stanford MBA Program, and we look forward to reading your application. If you have questions, please contact us at +1.650.723.2766.

Sincerely,

MBA Admissions Office

Interesting that (according to the 2009 blog post at least) only 400 interviews max were being extended to R2 applicants. But the email we got says 800-1,200 applicants will be interviewed for the class this year. So that means 400-800 (a big range!) have been/will be invited in R1 and R3? Does anyone know the stats of interviews/admits for R1?

Don't discount the increased number of applications at the top 10 schools. It's entirely possible Stanford has an extra 500-1000 apps this year vs 2009.

It's possible that apps have gone up, though it also seems like a couple years ago was the peak in the MBA app boom. But regardless, if the class size hasn't increased since 2009, then we would probably expect the #s of interviews to stay about the same regardless...just with increased competitiveness for each spot.

Is it safe to assume that bulk of interview invites so far went to international applicants because there might be delay in scheduling interviews etc etc

The people I know who received invites are domestic applicants. I don't think there's any particular order to the interview invites.
