Weird question for you all.
I was dinged in R1. Now I'm choosing between Sloan and waiting for a year to take another swing at HBS and Stanford.
What would you guys do in this situation?

When I am in these situations I ask myself, which would add more value. Taking a year off to improve an application to Stanford or attending Sloan now.
No doubt the year that you take off to improve the app will add value, is that value greater that what you can achieve by attending Sloan today?

I actually don't know much about Sloan, so I cannot comment on how good or bad the school is compared to Stanford, but the fact that you even applied there tells me that you considered it a good option (unless ofcourse you were just killing time  )

I would take the Sloan admit. It is a great school. If this thread is any indication of the acceptance rate at Stanford then you could be setting yourself up for failure if you wait.

Do what *you* want to do. If you think Sloan is a good fit, do it. If you hate the school but applied because it's well-regarded, then there's no point.

At the end of the day, you'll probably get what you want from any of the top programs. It's a matter of what school suits who you are best for 2 years.

GZR4DR - No, haven't seen that yet. When did they start reviewing your application? How old are you & how many years experience?

I've actually been thinking about going that route...

Either we are an inferior sub set of the applicant pool as someone previously said or Stanford is taking their own sweet time.

32 years old
8.5 years experience (individual contributor, project management, and managerial experience at a Fortune 100)

I submitted my app in October for R1.

Who are the 5?
I think the count includes this forum and some other one. Not sure though, but of the top of my head, I know of 2 in this forum who got invited, and I think they were both at international locations.

I could be totally wrong though...

Did anyone on this forum get an email from the GSB when their application went under review? Just confirming as some other schools send out an email.
