Tepper 2012 - Calling All Applicants

Yes, my FB wall is littered with announcements of where people are going! At UCSD (where a lot of my friends are), they have a morning event where they invite loved ones, etc and they all open the envelope together.

Just got the interview. I am a round 3 applicant. Hope to see you all in Tepper.

However, I found that the tuition in Tepper is so expensive. Anybody know about the total charge of study in Tepper for one year?

Did you mean the total cost of Tuition + living expenses for first year at Tepper? We'll need some of the current students to help confirm the actual living expenses, however there is a ball park estimate available on the Tepper website:

I would say that you won't spend that much on transportation (P-burgh has a great, free-to-students bus system) and I have only spent about $500 on books. Also, I don't think any of the laptops are $2000.

I had applied on R3 and i got my interview scheduled on 29th. Can i please get some help from people who have faced the tepper interview? How long is it and what is focussed on? What are the general questions asked?

My interview at Tepper was very relaxed and an overall positive experience. It was probably about 40 minutes including some of my questions that I asked at the end of the interview. If you are interviewing on campus I would encourage you to participate in the visit program. It was nice to go to a class and interact with current students prior to my interview. It made me feel way more relaxed.

I found the questions pretty standard to most of the other interviews I have had. Be prepared to answer why mba, why now, and why Tepper. I was also asked to walk my interviewer through my resume. As I started going through my resume, my interviewer had a few follow up questions. She asked me about some leadership experiences and how I felt about being part of a group when I was not leading the team. Towards the end of the interview she asked me to tell her what I thought were two strengths of my application and then what I thought were two a weaknesses in my application.

As with any interview, I would encourage you to make sure you can effectively communicate your career goals and how the school will help you reach them. Also, be confident and treat each question independently. Even if you think you didn't give a great answer to the prior question, don't let that answer influence your ability to effectively answer the subsequent questions.

My application status says, "Completed on 3/19/2012 4:41:00 PM". I submitted my application by R3 deadline, Mar 5th. It also says, "Stage:3 Credentials Received - Appication Under Review by the Admissions Committee".

for those who were invited before - normally, how long it takes to receive an interview invite after entering this stage?

This doesn't directly address your question, but I got mine 10 days after submission. Today was the first day of interviewing for this round, so, fwiw, it seems like we're still early in the process for interviews this round.

Yes I am attending Saturday. I might make it parts of Friday night but Ross's Admit weekend is Thursday, Friday, Sat so I'm still deciding how to split the two events up. A lot of people are facing this situation

Why do all these schools have to have events the same weekend? killing us...

Hi all,

I am admitted to both the Tepper MBA program and the Rotman (University of Toronto) MBA program and am looking for some advice on which one to choose.

My background is in engineering and I would like to transition my career into a fiance role, preferably investment banking . I know that Tepper has a better overall recognition, but I am not sure if it is much superior to Rotman when it comes to finance and employment opportunities in finance roles. I have no preference for working in Canada or the US, but think that it may be easier for me to to find a job in Toronto as a Canadian.

Any advice??
