Hello,
I am planning to apply kinda early to the business schools but was wondering if the schools I am targeting to are totally unrealistic at this stage.
(Indian, 23, Male)
Undergrad:Topmost private university in India
GPA:(9.1/10)
GMAT:760 (Q:50/V:41)
Not much leadership experience except for couple of juniors at workplace where I my role was more of a guide. Experience in college as Teaching Assistant.
Less extracurricular.
Experience: Aug 2010-Present Marketing consultancy. Before that I have 2 6-month internships in well-known (IT) MNCs.
Post MBA goal: Marketing, Management consulting, General Mangement in US.
Additionally, I have a sibling already working in US for the past 3 years. Would that help in any way?
I am aiming at the following colleges:
Dream: Stanford, Wharton, Kellogg
Achievable: Booth, Haas, Columbia, Tuck, Yale
Safety-net colleges: Stern, Fuqua, UCLA
Please let me know what my chances are according to you. I want to get into a BSchool this year and would prefer not to wait for another year. Thanks in advance.
Hi
I would start with Good news
Good news is that you are aware where you wanna go in life, and you have time in your hand to go into that direction.
You just need the right direction to build your profile in this time and you will be on.
Your GMAT is very good, but please remember GMAT is just a part of MBA admission process, you have not mentioned your undergrads ( stream ), if you are from engineering background, you can take one or two short terms courses also for making an value addition till the time you wait.
so there are so many aspects that you can build your profile with the days to come.
Now, bad news
You are young buddy !! , In India, doing an MBA immediately after passing out from college is common, but the dynamics of international mba are different.
and the schools that you are targeting are not the schools who will just take someone with 760. WHY YOU ???? is gonna be the first Qs , there would be so many people applying with 760, what will differentiate is what they have done apart from GMAT.
Hope this helps buddy !! Please let me know if you need any help
Good Luck
