Hey gmatmember85,
Thanks for reaching out to me. If you applied to all 30 schools, I'm pretty sure that you would get into one of them. So your chances are 100%. However, you would probably be bankrupt that point, given the price of applying to many of these programs.
Next point – they will take the highest of the three scores, because that's what they want to report to US news when they come around asking for data to supply their esteemed rankings with. Now, what will they think about the other two scores – especially the last one where you seem to score much lower? They will either consider it or ignore it.
Let me put it this way – if they like what else you have to say in your application, they are just going to ignore it. Everybody makes mistakes after all, even though you seemed to have made two mistakes on the GMAT. If they don't like what you have to say in your application, then having three low GMAT scores is another nail in the coffin.
I do have a question for you though regarding your extracurricular activities. You mentioned in your post to me that you have participated in "cancer marathons." What exactly is that? I have heard of such things, but I've never actually known anyone who participated in a cancer marathon. Is that is where you start running, and at the same time smoke cigarettes and eat lead paint? I'm kidding of course, and my point is that some of your description is a little vague, but I will roll with it.
Respectfully,
Paul Lanzillotti

Hi,
My scores in GMAT (in order): 600 (q46,v27), 640 (q47, v32), 580 (q48, v22).
I heard that schools take the highest score out of the three. I've two questions:
1) Would that 580 affect my application in any way? Please advise.
2) I'm looking to apply to schools in USA in the rank between 20-50. What are my chances?
My other credentials:
Bachelors in engineering (3.7 GPA)
Masters in Computer Engineering (3.6 GPA) in a top 100 company in fortune 500
Decent extracurriculars(participated in charity and cancer marathons, supporting a impoverished child for her education, donations, etc.)
Please advice as soon as you can.
Thanks alot
