I hope I am posting this is in the right section; I am thinking about applying to a MSc in management since I am too young for an MBA (I'm 23) but I really want to further my education.
Most of the applications I am thinking about need two references, one academic and one professional.
This is were my problem is at: I have obtained my degree last year and I have been self employed since then, since I founded my own business.
I can't seem to be able to obtain a professional reference, since I am my own employer and I am not sure it would be appropriate to contact my old professors asking them for references at more than one year distance.
What would be the best solution to my dilemma?
Thank you in advance and, again, I hope this question is appropriate for this section.
For the academic reference, you should contact some of your professors that are likely to remember you. That's not an issue.
For the professional recommendation, see if you can't ask a client, a supplier, or a colleague -- like your accountant or attorney, if you have one-- to write the recommendation.
Best,
Linda
