Is there anyway that schools can see if you took the test more than 5 years ago? I took the test in 2006 and again this September - would it be safe to report 1 attempt on applications?

I believe the answer is no, they wouldn't be able to see more than 5 years into the past. The old system used to be that they could see your 5 most recent attempts, but it was recently changed to reveal ALL your attempts in the most recent 5 years. I'm pretty sure, but you might seek a second opinion.

i just looked it up and per GMAC's rules, the answer is no - they will not report your older score:

Quote:
However, if you have tested within the past five (5) years and have a valid score, we will not report scores more than five (5) years old.


On another note, it apparently is possible and allowed to send in a report with a score older than 5 years, but only if you have not taken a more recent score - hope that makes sense.
