Anything you do extra CAN help. A better GMAT, a promotion, new achievements, awards, bonuses etc. and basically you need to find the thing that would give you the best returns. If it's the GMAT, then yeah, go and do that. If instead you can do something else, I dunno, say run a fundraiser, or whatever, then you might do that instead. But whatever you do do, make sure to let them know about it!

Dude, if you are an heir at a 1 billion dollar company, you are almost in already.

A 2.7 is a bit low GPA though, and even if you have good reasons, we don't want the school to think you're a spoiled rich kid who doesn't wanna work hard!!!

Sooooo, make up for it as much as you can, and kick ass on the GMAT. If you can do that, you are on the road to acceptance.
