Re: Accepted at USC, wait-listed at UCLA. Thoughts? [#permalink]
I'm interested in Marketing. It would be a totally new industry for me, as I'm a military officer.

We want to stay in the California area, however up and down the west coast works as well.

In terms of UCLA vs. USC, I've actually wavered this entire time about where I want to be. At first I liked UCLA due to rankings (and prior to more research). Then after a visit (and a football game), USC was at the top. Now reading about how Marshall is falling has got me thinking again...

I do know that students are very happy at both schools, and you're right, I'm in a decent situation. However, if I'm able to get off the waitlist, I'll have a very tough decision to make.

Both great schools, especially for being in California. Worldwide and even across the US, UCLA seems to be more well known/regarded but if you want to be in SoCal, I'd say it's hard to beat the Trojan network. They live and breathe USC unlike anything I've seen.

That didn't really help much -- I think it's ultimately a personal decision, but keep in mind that you'll be choosing a football team for life ;)

How much is usc deposit. Id say choose ucla if u can. The students i spoke to spoke poorly of usc and rankings are taking a pumbling. That said, if u dont get into ucla, i think u could still make a career for urself in the area w usc. If it were me and the deposit wasnt too bad id put it down and see how ucla waitlist works as far as extra submissions etc. if u get in go there and forfeit ur few $ deposit for sure. I spoke to a student who had a full ride to usc and took it. Then regretted it and tried to transfer midyear to ucla. There's a fallout right now b/w the studnets and the new administration which seems out of touch.
