Re: IESE 2013-Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
I put in my application the day of the deadline, February 25th. Anyone know when I should expect an invitation to interview or rejection? I've been checking my email compulsively every few hours for the past few days. I'm guessing I should hear something by week 3?

Last evening got a letter inviting for assessment day at Singapore on 20th April.. Does everyone gets the invite to assessment day or there are direct admits and optional invitation to assessment day? My letter also says assessment day is optional but we (school) strongly recommend to attend... I think I should attend.. thoughts ? anyone else attending ? also has anyone got a reject after attending assessment day ?

I would recommend to attend it

thanks MALD2011

considering to attend AD.. as many suggested it gives another opportunity to highlight your team /interpersonal skills.
Any thought what to expect on AD ? any preparation required ?

Hi - I absolutely believe that IESE is a brilliant program... however I'm an Indian candidate, little skeptical about the placement scenario in Spain/EU/Intl. esp. given the market scenario and visa rules.. can any one share some thoughts or any inputs on this esp for International candidates.

Hey everybody,
Just got back from the open day/ interview and assessment day in Barcelona... I had such a good time.. the school is beautiful.. and the city is even better, I totally fell in love!!! and the IESE people, both staff and students are very very nice... Now more than ever, I am hoping that I get in. The assessment day is much nicer than everybody makes it out to be on these forums.. It was a fun day.. you get to work in teams and know people who might be your future classmates hehe.

Sunshine,

Can you provide us some details about the assessment day experience? I'm trying to decide if its worth going given my budget.

For example: What is the general agenda? As you work in teams are there adcoms hovering around taking notes? What information is provided by the school? Did you get the feeling that going gave you a significant advantage in the application process?

Thanks!

Hey,
Yes, I did feel like it helped significantly, because you are giving your candidacy a whole other side.. bringing it to life (or killing it all together hehe) but It definitely helps.. as you work in groups the one or two members of the adcom are around, but they dont hover over you taking notes... its more like they blend in.. and join you, asking questions, laughing, etc, its hard to remain concious that you are being observed.. It is a day long experience so you may be nervous at first ut you eventually ease up and enjoy it, especially if you remain engaged in the whole process and not day dream, because you can be cold called... I would definitely recommend that you go if you can..

Thanks for the info, Sunshine! I have a few more questions, if you have a minute.

First, how many people made it to the event? Do you have a rough estimate?
Second, how big was the group you were in to work the case?
Finally, did they give you any indication of how long it would be until you recieved a decision?

I've been looking for info on the assessment day on the web, but the links I find are interviews with admissions personnel and don't give any sort of details.

Thanks again!

What do admitted candidates think of the deposit.. its 15,000 Euro total, before you can apply for the loan.Isnt that a bit steep?

Whew! Got my admit today. I'll most likely matriculate. How's everybody going to handle the deposits? I can take care of the 5k euros, but the 10k installment has me nauseated! Will financial aid cover the first installment?
