I am 42 applying for phd with an MBA from a Top global university in India after 20 years..is it likely that i will be considered favorably for admissions based on my quant capabilities, i expect to repeat a 750-800 on the GMAT (Q59, V 43 IR 10 AWA 6) but recommendations will be from contacts of 20 years ago, with last 5 years in self study and financial analysis business experiments

Undergraduate education is from one of the original IITs

I'm really not sure how your application will be viewed. It also would depend where you apply. Do you have clear research goals and reasons for wanting an MBA now? While we have a few people at Accepted who advise Ph.D. candidates, I usually do not.

Best,
Linda

Linda,

Thanks for the quick revert to whatstheoldest42. how do i get in touch with those few who can start the ball rolling on this subject. A few rare threads in this forum 'close to my heart' are however from years ago.

I am fairly certain of my research interests and will be ringing up faculty at the selected schools in august after I am sure they have refreshed their program requirements for Fall 2014 etc. I am ringing up my recommendation providers now and can hopefully then write up the SOP for each school.

Maybe they can verify the list of schools is linked here in the new forum topic -- Fall 2014 applicants: Building your Ph D Applications

Amit,

If you are interested in working with us, please review our services at https://www.accepted.com/services/gradservices.aspx and then I can put you in touch with those on staff who have worked with Ph.D. candidates.

Best,
Linda
