pre-thinking - a verb should be present in the relative pronoun clause (that his corp ....)
A) for the six charged senior officers they could provide
based on prethinking, there is no verb corresponding to the subject - that his corp's lawyers. Eliminate
B) for the six senior charged officers had the ability of providing
The verb 'had' seems to talk about the action of officers, than the lawyers. Additionally, the construction is verbose, owing to the usage of noun form - ability of providing'. Eliminate.
C) had the ability, for the six senior officers charged, of providing
Unnecessary usage of 'past perfect'. Verbose in that noun form (ability of providing) is used. The placement of the parenthetical element is wrong. Eliminate
D) were able to provide for the six senior officers charged
Verb is good. Participle modifies officers perfectly well. Verb form is also good and concise. Right answer
E) being able to provide for the six senior charged officers
Present continuous (of be) is not needed. Placement of participle is wrong. Eliminate.

The text is a convoluted sentence without proper punctuation’
A) for the six charged senior officers they could provide --- The problem here is the pronoun ’they’ which is redundant and renders the sentence a fragment, with one verb for two subjects. There should be a comma after officers to set off the officers from modifying the providing of undue influence.
B) for the six senior charged officers had the ability of providing --- meaning changed; providing influence is shifted to officers wrongly
C) had the ability, for the six senior officers charged, of providing --- ‘had the ability of providing’ is wrong idiom. Correct idiom is ‘had the ability to provide. ----
