Re: Round 3 (and waitlisted) Longshot [#permalink]
The AA housing market is a little unusual in my experience. Most places require a reservation fee (often ~1 mo rent) to hold the unit, but don't ask you to sign the lease until close to move-in day. If every goes to plan, the reservation is applied to your first/last/deposit. In our case, we burned it, but didn't actually break a lease. All-in, we spent ~$5k towards a future in AA.

My wife had gotten approval to work remotely when we moved to AA. That was pretty easy to unravel.

Thanks for sharing! It's great to know there can be great endings after getting waitlisted, really needed it since I'm on 3 waitlists right now and am hoping for good news this month.

Although I knew some of it from our conversations, this reads great!
The admit to Booth despite submitting an R3 application, low GPA and being on the waitlist, is something superb! Also, congratulations on the successful recruitment season.

Thank you for posting this.

This is an incredible board and community, but the biggest problem here is once the members go through all the steps of getting into a program and finally reach campus, they stop posting. Obviously, they are busy, focused on their new program and their coming careers. Without these retrospective posts, its hard to get the perspective some of us need while buried in applications, interviews and worry. Only those who have been through it can write with the authority and requisite distance from the process to really bring everything into focus.

You're welcome. I found the entire process to be far more mystifying and opaque than it needs to be. Just trying to shed a little light.

Same for recruiting, but that's a topic for another day...
