I am trying to decide between Haas/Booth/Kellogg. I currently work in technology and am hoping to get into strategy consulting but keep technology as a backup. Since Haas doesn't share employment reports of part time students I am not sure how many people from EWMBA make it to MBB. Can someone reflect on this as well as how much support is available at Haas for preparing for case base interviews. Any suggestion about which school I should choose?

I'm not sure on the numbers, but I do know of a few classmates who received internships to both McKinsey and Bain. As I didn't go the consulting route, I'm not sure if BCG was an active recruiter.

What I can say is this, the number of classmates who intend to go into either IB or Consulting is fairly small, but those who do want to go that route have plenty of opportunities and lots of support available to them.

As your backup is technology, there is no question that Haas is incredibly strong in that area. From the looks of it, having to decide between Haas, Booth, and Kellogg is a pretty good position to be in.

Any other round 3 applicants who haven't been invited to interview yet? How much notice do they usually give?

I was a round 4 applicant and already interviewed. But I do remember seeing a list full of applicants when I checked in. Hope you get your invite soon!

Just curious for the admitted candidates, is there a facebook/linkedin group? If so, how many people are in there? It is one week until the round 3/4 decision date...i want to get a rough idea of how many spots are still open. :-D

Also, anyone have insight into round 5 (rolling admissions)? Was this offered last year?

Thanks!

There is a facebook group. It has 100 members at the moment. From what I can tell, 3 of the members are from my class, and ~5 are Haas staff.

Thanks packet for the speedy response! Do you happen to have any insights/thoughts about why haas opened a rolling admissions round and the impact on current wait listed people? Was there a round 5 in prior years? I didn't see any in prior forums.

I just got interviewed today. Is that a bad sign being so close to the decision date? I'm a round 3 applicant.

I think they mentioned that they interview all the way up until decision date and the order of the interview is random. Congrats on getting an interview!

I applied in R4 on 04/13/2014. Invited to interview on 04/25/2014. Interviewed on 05/01/2014. Quantitative proficiency has been completed, as my GRE quant score was at the 85th percentile. File is under review. Waiting patiently for the decision. Will they start calling about admission decisions tomorrow, just like they did for R1/R2 or should we wait till 04/30/2014?

According to previous rounds/years, I believe they start calling tomorrow.

If the facebook group has 100 members, does that mean less than half of the seats are filled as of now?

Good luck everyone!

Thanks, intern19! Congrats to you too.

aradhya, I was just about to ask the same thing about the phone calls. I'd also like to know when I should start watching my phone (I'm in San Francisco). I know it won't be healthy to spend the whole day waiting for a call that might not come at all, but I know I won't be able to help it.

Good luck to everyone - we'll all be watching our phones intently tomorrow.

Thanks, intern19.

Flakecandy, I am in the same boat. I am in SFO as well. Hope they call us tomorrow.

Does Haas have a targeted class size? I wonder if there's a smaller applicant pool. In earlier posts, someone mentioned that this thread was much quieter than last year's.

The 2017 Haas Facebook closed group has more than 100 members. Earlier FB groups seem to have more than 200 members, but they may have joined when the classes began. The acceptance rate seems to be comparable to the previous years though. Hope that helps.

Yeah this year's thread is much less active than last year's. But it seems like the past two years the entering class size is around 250. From what I saw when I checked in for my interview, they are still interviewing a lot of people, and that list was only for that day..

They are still accepting applications on a rolling basis after May 30, 2014. I just saw that on their website. I am not sure if they do that every year.

It was getting to be a little lonely, I had been starting to think I was the only person applying for round 3 =P

I didn't even know they opened a 4th round until this week. My interviewer also mentioned that they're accepting applications after May 30th on a case-by-case basis.

I moved to the Bay Area just when the R3 deadline was approaching, so I missed it. I thought I was the only R4 applicant, until I met a couple of interviewees, who had applied in R4 on the same day as my interview. The application process seems to be a bit unpredictable this year.
